Spicy Mahal opened in a small plaza at 3351 153 Ave NW to give northeast Edmonton a proper North Indian kitchen close to home. Instead of driving downtown or across the city for a good curry, neighbours in Miller, Brintnell, Hollick-Kenyon and McConachie can walk in, call ahead, or order online in a couple of minutes.
Our cooks work the way home kitchens across North India do — whole spices bloomed in oil, gravies simmered until they turn rich, rice layered by hand. Chicken biryani, butter chicken, slow-cooked lamb and goat curry, vegetarian sabzi and tandoori-style chicken tikka all come out of that same kitchen.
